I have followed the recent news stories and watched a Washington Post video timeline of events in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020, my 60th birthday, in the state in which I was born and raised through high school.

I have followed the recent news stories and watched a Washington Post video timeline of events in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020, my 60th birthday, in the state in which I was born and raised through high school.
A small rural hospital in Stayton, Oregon, was awaiting supplies to run their qPCR test—the test that determines if patients are sick with COVID-19.* But before the supplies could arrive, they were rerouted to a larger hospital in New York.
Emanuel Montanez is not an athlete only when he’s on the soccer field. He’s not a student only when he’s in the science lab, and he’s not a Christian only when he’s at church. Rather, Eman realizes that these three identities coexist, shape one another, and help him understand himself and God more fully.
Starting Fall 2020, students can join Corban’s computer science program! Leading the program is new faculty hire Dr. Deborah Thomas, who completed her master’s and PhD at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and comes to Corban after nine years of teaching at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Corban was on the verge of meeting its annual goal for the Corban Fund, which provides for student scholarships and basic campus operations. But with the COVID-19 crisis, unexpected student needs and campus expenses have come to the forefront.

Tobi Adeoye (class of 2022) is studying biomedical sciences at Corban. She is currently the Student Government Association Vice President, and was recently elected as SGA President for Fall 2020. In addition, Tobi competes as a thrower for the women’s track & field team and participates on Corban’s debate team.

Professor of English Dr. Marty Trammell shares how teaching remotely has shaped his interactions with students. But while this new teaching format comes with unique challenges, Dr. Trammell isn’t daunted or discouraged.
Born August 25, 1921, Howard Games spent his childhood in Southern Idaho. At an early age, he fell in love with flying planes, and even traveled to Boise at the age of 6 to meet Charles Lindbergh. He continued pursuing his passion for flying into adulthood and earned his pilot’s license from the College of Idaho in 1940.
We interviewed three Corban alumni to see how COVID-19 has affected them in their respective industries. From education to healthcare to the arts, we’re seeing God show up in incredible ways—and our alumni are attesting to His goodness!

It’s hard to believe that just a couple of months ago, I (Sheldon Nord) was sitting on a crowded flight to Indonesia, eagerly anticipating connecting with Corban alumni and friends. I was about to disembark and take public transportation to my lodgings. The next day, I would greet friends and dignitaries with handshakes and perhaps even hugs.
Corban University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and completed a Year-Seven Comprehensive (Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness (EIE)) in 2022 for continued accreditation. The comprehensive self-study was followed by an onsite evaluation in October 2022. In February 2023, Corban received reaffirmation of its accreditation for 7 years. Corban University’s last Mid-Cycle Evaluation was fall 2018, and its Policies, Regulations and Financial Review (PRFR) was completed in fall 2021. As of our most recent evaluation, Corban University is compliant with the Standards, Policies, and Eligibility Requirements of the NWCCU.
