Professional

Professor Bartsch teaches music theory and composition. Before coming to teach at Corban in 1991, he served as accompanist and arranger for Back to the Bible Quartet and Choir in Lincoln, Nebraska, and taught at Grace College of the Bible in Omaha, Nebraska. He has also been a church organist.

Professor Bartsch is a skilled composer who has published numerous original compositions and arrangements, including “God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen” for handbells and orchestra, “How Could It Be, Little Child” for S.A.T.B. choir and piano, and “Spirit Wind” for three to five octaves of handbells.

Personal

John is married with three grown children and ten grandchildren. He enjoys walking, being with grandchildren, visiting with neighbors, and writing music for school, church, and friends.

NWCCU ACCREDITATION

Corban University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and completed a Year-Seven Comprehensive (Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness (EIE)) in 2022 for continued accreditation. The comprehensive self-study was followed by an onsite evaluation in October 2022. In February 2023, Corban received reaffirmation of its accreditation for 7 years. Corban University’s last Mid-Cycle Evaluation was fall 2018, and its Policies, Regulations and Financial Review (PRFR) was completed in fall 2021. As of our most recent evaluation, Corban University is compliant with the Standards, Policies, and Eligibility Requirements of the NWCCU.
