Professional

Professor Hedlund taught as an adjunct at Corban and as a graduate teaching assistant at Oregon State University before joining the Corban faculty. His graduate studies focused on number theory and crypto-analysis, and he has given numerous talks on number theory, including: “Polynomial Mappings with Polynomial Inverses,” “Rational Periodic Points of the Family of Quadratic Maps,” and others.

Professor Hedlund has also written a paper on Pollard’s rho algorithm for the discrete logarithm problem, which included an implementation of Pollard’s method to crack key transfer methods such as the Diffie-Hellman algorithm.

Personal

Evan and his wife, Adrienne, met in high school and attended Corban for their undergraduate degrees. They were married by Corban’s own theology professor, Dr. Tim Anderson. They love to spend time outside in God’s great creation, manage their church’s garden, read, and spend time with their cat, Hobbes. Evan also enjoys attending the men’s bible study at his pastor’s house and helping in men’s ministries.

Why Corban

“Corban is such a wonderful place where students can grow strong in their faith and develop their specialized disciplines while receiving holistic faith-integrated education. It is such an honor to serve the Corban community and carry on this legacy. Making a difference in students’ lives at Corban will help me carry the call to make a difference in the world for Jesus Christ.”

NWCCU ACCREDITATION

Corban University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and completed a Year-Seven Comprehensive (Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness (EIE)) in 2022 for continued accreditation. The comprehensive self-study was followed by an onsite evaluation in October 2022. In February 2023, Corban received reaffirmation of its accreditation for 7 years.
