Dr. Stark teaches freshman and advanced writing, logic, a worldview seminar, and several philosophy and literature courses. In terms of research, he works primarily in the field of rhetoric and religion, but on the side investigates fantastical literature and select video games. He has written three books, A Guidebook to Monsters (2024), Biblical Sterne (2021), and Rhetoric, Science, and Magic in Seventeenth-Century England (2009), and co-edited with Tina Skouen a collection titled Rhetoric and the Early Royal Society (2015). His essays have appeared in various journals, among them The Journal of the History of Ideas, Literature and Theology, and Rhetorica.
