Looking for a Christian University Online? Ten Reasons Why Corban Might Be Right For You

Finding the right Christian college is difficult enough when you’re in a flexible stage of life—fresh out of high school perhaps, without a full-time job or a mortgage to prevent you from moving to another state or even across the country. But when you’ve already established roots, when you love your geographical area, are close to family, or have a full-time job you enjoy, finding the perfect Christian University online becomes a challenge.

How do you find an online university that’s going to challenge you academically, support you spiritually, and allow you to continue investing in your career and family? What is a quality online education, anyway, and what should you be looking for? How do you know if a school’s online programs will set you up for success?

Corban University is here to reassure you that a quality online education is more than possible. Let us help you find a quality program so you can finish your degree without sacrificing the other priorities in your life.

We have ten reasons why Corban’s accredited online programs in business and psychology might be right for you:

  1. You won’t have to uproot your life to move forward in your education. One of the greatest benefits of online education is the ability to continue investing right where you are. Many of our students already serve in full-time ministries, have families, or simply love where they live. An online program lets you move forward with your degree without—well, moving.
  2. You’ll have full control over your courseload and schedule. Corban’s online programs are designed so that you can take courses at your own pace, balancing your time, energy, and finances. Courses are divided into 8-week sessions (with two 8-week sessions each fall, spring, and summer), giving you the flexibility to take on the courseload that works with your schedule. Students can even take breaks from their studies if unexpected life events arise. Most of our students take 1–3 classes per 8-week session.
  3. You’ll be able to save money and invest at your own pace. Pursuing your education online will save you money, as you won’t have to factor in costs associated with moving, living on campus, or commuting. Plus, by filling out your FAFSA, you’ll find access to grants, scholarships, and loans to help you afford your education. Learn more about tuition and aid.
  4. You’ll participate in a community of engaged thinkers. It’s easy to assume that online education occurs without much human engagement or interaction. Nothing could be farther from the truth with Corban’s online programs. You’ll have frequent opportunities to interact not only with your professors, but also with fellow classmates as you engage in online forum discussions that challenge you to ask tough questions and engage with other deep thinkers.
  5. You’ll learn from faculty who know you and invest in you. Our faculty are more than instructors; they’re mentors. With our small class sizes and 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio, faculty are able to give you individualized feedback, support, and mentorship. You can be confident that faculty will challenge and encourage you in your walk with Christ, and will be available to answer your questions about assignments and course topics. One of the advantages of online courses is that you don’t have to track down a professor in their office to ask a question or get feedback.
  6. You’ll learn from faculty who are experts in their fields. Our faculty have spent years as professionals in their fields—indeed, many are still professional counselors and business professionals alongside their roles as educators. These years of real-world expertise have equipped our faculty to provide an education that will prepare you for the marketplace. You’ll benefit not only from their knowledge but from their stories, real-life examples, and practical wisdom.
  7. You’ll be set up for future opportunities and success. Even if you love your current job, our business and psychology degrees will equip you to take advantage of additional career and personal opportunities when they arise. You’ll have the opportunity to choose among five concentrations (Accounting, Leadership & Management, Marketing, Family Studies, and Pre-Counseling) and determine which degree best aligns with your career interests and long-term goals. 8. You’ll be able to grow spiritually and deepen your faith. Each of Corban’s faculty members is a follower of Christ, and each course is designed to integrate a biblical worldview perspective. In addition to coursework in your field, you’ll be able to take a variety of enriching bible courses, including Bible Study Methods and Introduction to Theology. These courses will prepare you to engage your career with a grounding in Scripture and theology.
  9. You’ll be able to immediately apply and integrate what you’re learning. One of the benefits of pursuing an education while building your career is that you’ll be able to take what you learn in the classroom and immediately implement or practice it in your workplace. Whether you’re taking psychology courses like Lifespan Development and Social Psychology, or business classes like Marketing Principles and Financial Management, you’ll suddenly see connections and applications in your career and daily life. Similarly, the experience you’ve already gained in your career will give you an advantage in the classroom, as you draw on life experience to understand new concepts on a deeper level.
  10. You can make the world your classroom. Studying online allows you to choose your own learning environment, whether that’s a cozy coffee shop or a quiet home office. You’re in control of your time, your schedule, and your study space, and can choose the learning environment that works best for you.

Ultimately, you’ll find that Corban’s online programs give you the best of both worlds. You’ll get professional training while also receiving the Scriptural engagement that you would get from an online Bible college. You’ll experience both community and independence, structure and flexibility. You’ll have the support you need to finally finish your degree, alongside the ability to pace yourself and decide how much you can invest in your education, season by season.

Online education is meant to be challenging and enriching, but it’s also meant to be doable alongside your career, family, and other life priorities. Learn more about Corban’s programs, contact us, or apply today!
