Student

Corban University Career Services is excited to announce the first, all-campus Corban Career Day on Wednesday, November 20, 2024! There are multiple ways you can participate, including:

  • Career Development Workshops
  • Employer Career Fair
  • Headshot Station
  • Passport to Success Challenge (a scavenger hunt with prizes)
  • Student Mock Interviews
  • SAB Bunco & Networking Event

Here is a little bit more about each of the key events, along with an overview of the schedule:

Career Development Workshops

To prepare to launch your professional life upon graduation, this year we are starting new Career Development Workshops by major. Please note that these workshops are mandatory and required in lieu of your regularly scheduled classes. Register FIRST for one of the workshops assigned to your major. Then sign up for any other workshops you plan to attend.

Employer Career Fair

We look forward to hosting 50-60 organizations on campus to connect you with internships, part-time jobs, and full-time job opportunities for a wide array of majors. We will host businesses, non-profits, and even a few state agencies that are looking for you! Bring your resumes and dress for success!

Headshot Station

If you need a free professional photo for your LinkedIn profile, Emma K Photo (@emma.k.photo) will be onsite throughout the day taking photos at our first-ever headshot station. This is your opportunity to upgrade your LinkedIn profile with quality pic from Corban alum (’22) Emma Swoboda.

Find the headshot station at these locations:

  • Gym at the Career Fair from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • South Solarium of the Main Floor of the Library from 1:45 to 5:00 p.m.

Passport to Success Challenge

Are you interested in winning some prizes? We have created the Passport to Success Challenge that will take you through some fun mini challenges to win great prizes and be entered into a random drawing for some grand prizes. You can obtain your passport card at the Passport to Success booth at the Career Fair.

Student Mock Interviews

This experience is like a real-world interview with professionals from the community, but the benefit is you will receive candid feedback about your performance and how you can improve. This year students in the following majors will be able to schedule an interview:

  • Agriculture Science
  • Business
  • Counseling Psychology
  • Criminal Justice
  • Forensic Psychology
  • Media Arts

In 2025, we will add computer science, math, and ministry. Each year, more majors will be added until all majors are taking part in this opportunity to gain meaningful experience, learn from community professionals and receive real-world feedback.

SAB Bunco & Networking Lunch

From 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm, SAB will be hosting a Bunco event in the Emitte Center and offering lunch in the dining hall to all students. Bunco is a fast-paced dice game fun for all.
