Transportation

Most International students don’t have a personal vehicle during their time at Corban, and with all the exciting adventures Oregon has to offer, students may be wanting to expand their transportation options.

CHERRIOTS

Salem offers public transportation through the city’s bus line, Cherriots. There are many different routes throughout the city, as well as to neighboring cities. For more information regarding routes and fare rates, visit their website: https://www.cherriots.org/

INTERNATIONAL SHUTTLE

The ISS office offers a weekly shuttle for international students to run errands at nearby stores like Walmart, Winco, and Target. This is free of charge, and all international students are welcome to use this service. If you would like to be added to the list, email international@corban.edu.

We can also take students to appointments and the airport, if sufficient notice in advance is given and staffing allows.

DRIVING IN OREGON

International students are eligible to receive a driver’s license, this can be done through the Department of Motor Vehicles. Information can be found on their website: https://www.oregon.gov/odot/DMV/pages/driverid/licenseget.aspx

Students should keep in mind that this option is an extra expense, as well as a major responsibility.
